Liz Strauss at WordCamp Dallas on Building Community
One of the top questions that I was asked when I put a call out for your biggest blogging challenges was
What do I need to do to build community on my blog?
How can I get more comments?
and
Why do I get views but no comments?
I was going to write a downloadable report on the topic, but expert community builder Liz has gone and done a brilliant presentation at WordCamp Dallas that answers the question nicely.
Just to point out an incredible fact from the video, Liz has over 60,000 comments. She knows a thing or two about getting people talking.

“With so many self-proclaimed blogging experts out there these days, it's nice to know you can learn from a guy who's earned that distinction without question. Chris doesn't just talk about building authoritative blogs... he builds authoritative blogs. Don't settle for anyone who can't walk the talk.
“Chris Garrett is the authority that professional bloggers like myself
turn to when looking for advice on how to up our game”
“Chris's work on new media is consistently worthwhile. In an age of Twitter spammers and self-described experts, Chris stands out from the pack by adding real value through his blog posts, PDF articles, and valuable products. I've gone from reading his site once a month to once a week to the moment he publishes something new. ”
“Chris is one of the brightest minds in Social Media world today. He never ceases to amaze me.”
“Chris Garrett is one of the top business bloggers on the Web and has a reputation to match. And he deserves it. Chris is smart, generous and an excellent teacher. Every time I have the privilege of hearing Chris speak about blogging and social media, I learn something new. It's clear he cares deeply about the success of his students and audience, whether it's at a live event, virtual event or the content he shares on his blog at ChrisG.com. He's truly and authority in his niche. I would recommend Chris without reservation for consulting, training and as a speaker.”
“I was really a big blog skeptic. Chris Garrett stepped up to the plate. And he’s been effective from day one. He’s advised us what we can do in terms of technology. In terms of the nitty-gritty of blogging. And kept us updated on the bits and pieces that help create a blog that’s a lot different from all those blogs out there. And that’s why I’d recommend Chris.
You could say, I’m a satisfied customer. I’m sure you’ll find Chris’ talents and abilities will work for your business blog just as well.”
